
Three Slovenian transport projects to receive European Union funding

The European Commission will financially support three Slovenian projects in the total amount of €11.13 million European grants with the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program – July 17, 2020 The call ( IPE Transport 2019 ), published in October 2019 , with an indicative budget of €1.4 billion, received 262 applications from all 27 Member States, requesting €4.5 billion in European funding. Slovenian applicants submitted a total of five
proposals for co-financing projects, in the total amount of €33.33 million. Among the 130 selected projects, there are three projects of Slovenian beneficiaries to whom financial assistance in the total amount of €11.14 million of European funds has been proposed. The Ministry of Infrastructure successfully applied for the project “Ljubljana Hub: preparation of project documentation for the upgrade of sections and railway stations in Ljubljana”, for which the European Commission approved co-financing in the amount of 85% of eligible costs or 8.46 million euros of European funds. The project refers to the priority of the tender Measures at the nodes of the TEN-T core network, including urban nodes (passenger transport). As part of the project, project documentation will be prepared for the upgrade of the main station Ljubljana and the Ljubljana stations Šiška, Moste, Zalog and the railway lines between them. The company Truck Terminal doo has successfully applied for the project “Tir Truck Park Sermin”, the purpose of which is the new construction of 301 parking spaces for trucks in Koper, with a silver level standard according to European parking standards. The project refers to the priority of the tender Safe and secure infrastructure, including parking lots on the road core network TEN-T. Co-financing in the amount of 51% of eligible costs is proposed, which represents 2.51 million euros of European funds. As a Slovenian partner, Luka Koper, dd participates in the international partnership project “European Flagship Action for cold ironing in ports (EALING)”, coordinated by the Port of Valencia. It refers to the priority of the Motorway of the Sea tender. The purpose of the Slovenian part of the project is to prepare documentation for the construction of a system for feeding ships from the shore at the berth for Ro-Ro boats in the 3rd basin of the Port of Koper. For Luka Koper dd, co-financing in the amount of 50% of eligible costs is proposed, which represents €161,250 of European funds. Source: Government of Slovenia
