Transshipment rises three-fold at Bar port, Montenegro, in January 2020

Bar, Montenegro (PortSEurope) February 5, 2020 – Luka Bar AD, operator of Bar port, has reported three times more traffic in January 2020 than in the comparative period of 2019. January total transhipment was 227,615 tons, an increase of 2.7 times compared to the same period in 2019 when it amounted to 83,404 tons. This result is an excellent starting point for the further development
of the company, and based on contracted business and constant communications with business partners, a growing business trend is expected in February and March, which could make the current year a record. The company is dedicated to diversifying cargo transshipment, as well as intensive communication aimed at attracting new business partners, as well as potential investments, based on different investment models. It should be emphasized that the increased export activity of clients, partly due to the quality of the port services provided, is an economic justification for the started investment of €5 million in new port equipment.
