Trieste port sees total cargo in 2019 down; rail transport remains key

Trieste, Italy (PortSEurope) February 13, 2020 – Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mare Adriatico Orientale (AdSP – Eastern Adriatic Sea Port Authority) has reported cargo traffic numbers for 2019. The AdSP includes Trieste and Monfalcone ports. Trieste is the leading cargo port in Italy and handled 62 million tons of cargo, down 1% on 62.6 million in 2018.
