Ukrainian ports successfully pass the IMO audit

Odessa, Ukraine (PortSEurope) June 20, 2018 – The Ministry of Infrastructure has confirmed that Ukraine has passed the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) audit, verifying compliance by Ukraine as a port state, flag state and coastal state of international obligations in the field of maritime security.

The IMO auditors congratulated Ukraine on the successful completion of the audit, and thanked the team of the Ministry of Infrastructure for the co-ordinated team work.

Minister of Infrastructure Omelyan said, “Ukraine has successfully passed the IMO audit. I thank the entire ministry team for its successful work. Ukraine has confirmed its status as a navy state, and it is extremely important that the same is true for our international partners, in particular, the IMO. We have some comments on the results of the audit, but among the more than 50 countries that also held an IMO audit, the result of Ukraine can be considered exemplary. This is definitely a success not only in the maritime industry, but also in Ukraine as a whole”.
