Valencia, Spain (PortSEurope) November 22, 2018 – Valencia port has praised the decision of the Transport Committee of the European Parliament to include as priority axes the Valencia-Sagunto-Teruel-Zaragoza and Valencia-Madrid railway corridors within the Connecting Europe mechanism.
“This is excellent news for Valencia, for the Valencia region and for Valencians, for Aragon region and for the Aragonese, for the port and its area of influence and for the Spanish economy.” If the Valencia and Aragon economies grow, the Spanish economy does it too, so this is an excellent news for everyone,” the president of Autoridad Portuaria de Valencia (APV – Valenciaport, Port Authority of Valencia), Aurelio Martínez, said.
Once included as priority axes of the EU, new possibilities of access to European funding mechanisms are opened, with fewer restrictions and with the possibility that such projects do not count as a deficit in the state budgets, he noted.
