Vigo and Barcelona strengthen ties through their free zones

News Release – Consorcio de la Zona Franca de Vigo – January 9, 2020 Delegates of Consorcio de la Zona Franca de Vigo (the Zona Franca de Vigo Consortium) and Consorci Zona Franca Barcelona (Barcelona Zona Franca Consortium) accompanied by their respective management teams held a working meeting yesterday.. David Regades (Vigo) demonstrated that both free zones could strengthen collaboration mainly in areas such as support for industry, sustainable economy,
entrepreneurship and innovation. For his part, Pere Navarro (Barcelona) has stressed the role of free zones as “drivers of new opportunities” and “spearhead” in the economic development of the territory. Both have agreed to enhance the presence of the two free zones in different sector fairs and to encourage collaboration between their high-tech accelerators and incubators the HTA (High Tech Auto of Vigo) and the 3D printing in Barcelona. After the meeting, Regades and Navarro held a meeting with the mayor of the city, Abel Caballero, in the City Council of Vigo. The visit to the city ended with a tour of the different polygons, a visit to the facilities of the Delta Vigo company located in the PTL and the Automotive Technology Center (CTAG) located in the polygon of A Granxa Source: Consorcio de la Zona Franca de Vigo
