Vigo, Spain (PortSEurope) January 5, 2021 – During the past month of November, works worth around €4 million ($4.91 million) were certified, among which the urbanization of the business logistics area in PLISAN (2nd Phase) and the reform and improvement of the National Police units in the ground floor of the Maritime Station. In this case, the refurbishment works are about to be finished and
have consisted of the interior reform of the area that until now was occupied by its National Police units on the ground floor of the building, including small changes in the distribution. In this area were located the office of the head of service, a small changing room-warehouse, and the customer service area, with a minimum room of facilities. The state of conservation of both areas was not satisfactory. Likewise, the reorganization of accesses in the Bouzas Ferry Terminal, the improvement of the lighting in this same space, as well as in the areas of Orillamar, Arenal and the Bouzas exit road, various actions to improve the on the road to access to Monte Faro (Phase 2) and the installation of a removable and provisional roof structure on the Faros road, are scheduled to be completed in January. Already in February, it is planned to finish the regeneration of the seabed in various Bouzas docks, the improvement of the perimeter fences in the Ferry Terminal and the Commercial Docks and the improvement of the Border Control units (Phase 2- 2nd floor). This is the continuation of the work carried out in the premises of the National Police Corps on the ground floor of the Maritime Station and which will be complemented with a new space located on the second floor of the building and destined until recently for the Center of Control of the Port Police, adding between both spaces a total of about 300 m² of surface area. These works consist of the reform of the current facilities to implant the dependencies of an inadmissible room (surveillance, common room, 2 bedrooms and 2 complete bathrooms), some new changing rooms with their cleaning room, and general use units, with toilets plant, cleaning room and facilities and telecommunications room. The port will have to wait, of course, until well into the month of March, so that the extension of user departments of the Lonja is finally a reality. With this extension, the intention is to build a new floor on the covered space that was gained in its day between the original apartments and the auction room of the Lonja. To do this, a new mezzanine has been projected in the building, intended for user departments, where they will be able to carry out their own administrative activities, commercial work and the sale of their products. The current total built area is 31,296 m², plus 1,694 m² of the proposed extension, which represents a total of 32,990 m². In addition, a glazed viewpoint will be created with views of the auction room to facilitate the route of the numerous visits that are received in the Lonja. On the other hand, in November various works and services were tendered and awarded for about €2 million. Among the tenders, the fauna control service in the Fish Port Fish Market stands out for €60,000, while in the adjudication chapter there is the drafting of the Peiraos do Solpor project to the UTE HIDTMA, SL-Berenguer Ingenieros, SL- EUROFINS IPROMA, SLU, for an amount of €172,800, or the completion of work on the conditioning of the Orillamar road for €1.4 million to the UTE Arias-Arines.
