Vigo, Spain (PortSEurope) June 28, 2019 – Vigo port authority has approved the initial proposal of the 2020 Business Plan that needs to be ratified by national ports agency Puertos del Estado.
The programme includes the Investment Plan 2019-2023, with projects to improve maritime access drafts, investments in safety and the environment, as well as improvements in the capacity of berthing and storage infrastructure.
Among them is the extension of the New Commercial Wharf of Marín port to 328 metres that will give a multipurpose service to the port, allowing the berthing of large ships.
For the year 2020, a new reduction of the correction coefficients of the ship and cargo rates is proposed in order to encourage economic activity in the port area.
