Yilport Liscont to install four new Mitsui cranes

Lisbon, Portugal (PortSEurope) January 4, 2022 – In the New Year, Yilport Liscont will install four new, ship-to-shore electric Mitsui E&S Machinery Co. Ltd cranes at its terminal, located at the Alcântara pier. Transported from the port of Oita in Japan on the Dutch freighter Biglift Barentsz, the cranes produced by Mitsui represent an investment of €120 million by Yilport Liscont. The new cranes will modernize and
increase the operational efficiency of the port terminal, introducing significant environmental improvements, as well as an increase in the safety of operations both for the workers and other port workers. The new cranes will allow a range of 22 rows of containers on board the ships, being designed to operate the Ultra-Large Container Ships, also known as Super Post Panamax, and included in the main intercontinental maritime routes, as well as the state-of-the-art ships.
