Gioia Tauro

The Port of Gioia Tauro is a large seaport in southwest Italy and the largest port in Italy for container throughput. Gioia Tauro is a comune in the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria, on the Tyrrhenian coast. It has an important port, situated along the route connecting Suez to Gibraltar, one of the busiest maritime corridors in the world. The port is managed by Autorità di Sistema Portuale dei Mari Tirreno Meridionale e Ionio (AdSP – Southern Tyrrhenian and Ionian Seas) which also manages the smaller ports of Corigliano, Crotone, Palmi and Vibo Valentia.
