Ceuta, Spain (PortSEurope) September 11, 2017 – Ceuta port authority (Autoridad Portuaria de Ceuta) has closed the first seven months of the year with a 17% decrease in the number of cruise passengers.
Ceuta port has completed this season with six calls between January and July, which is below the eight calls reached in this time period last year. Ceuta port has reached 6,549 tourists this year versus 7,933 tourists in 2016, a decrease of 17.45% in passengers.
In July alone, Ceuta port handled 4,039 cruise passengers aboard two ships, versus 3,329 in July 2016.
Between January and December 2016, 17 vessels and 19,259 passengers passed through Ceuta port, an increase of 112.5% and 1,114%, respectively.
The port has two terminals for cruise ships: Muelle España and Dique de Poniente.
