After Nador, Morocco plans further LNG regasification plants

Posted on

Nador, Morocco (Ports Europe) April 23, 2024 – Last month, Morocco announced plans to develop the country’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure to support energy source diversification. The first LNG regasification plant would be located in the Mediterranean Sea port of Nador, which is currently undergoing massive development.

The Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development has now said the Nador terminal would be followed by plants in Mohammedia and Dakhla, both on the Atlantic Sea coastline.

When operational, Morocco will import and regasify LNG within the country, eliminating any dependencies on neighbouring countries.
