Thessaloniki, Greece (PortSEurope) September 11, 2017 – The interest of the Greek government in the development of Thessaloniki port and northern Greece, in general, is not just words and it has proved in launching very important projects in the area, prime minister Alexis Tsipras has said.
In this way, Tsipras commented on the recent signing of a contract with Bulgaria for the development of the railway links between ports in northern Greece and the Bulgarian ports of Varna, Burgas and Ruse.
The comments of Tsipras come at a time when international investors have reportedly expressed a serious interest in Alexandroupolis port and the completion of the process for the privatisation of Thessaloniki harbour.
