Belarus
Landlocked Belarus is a republic in Eastern Europe and was a Soviet republic 1919–91. In 1997, it formed a close political and economic union with Russia. It is the last country that remains solidly in Russia’s orbit in the post-Soviet era. It fully supports Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and, subsequently, is subject to severe international sanctions.
