València, Spain (PortSEurope) June 8, 2023 – The French CMA CGM Group is to acquire shares in Cosco Shipping Ports (Spain) Holding (CSP) from TPIH Iberia, corresponding to an indirect stake of 49% in CSP Iberian Valencia Terminal and an indirect stake of 38% in CSP Iberian Bilbao Terminal. The deal is subject to regulatory approval.

COSCO SHIPPING Ports acquired 51% in 2017 from TPIH. The company, then called Noatum, was renamed CSP Spain.

CMA CGM, which employs 470 people in Spain and Portugal with eleven offices, is already present in the terminals through its 50% stake in the second terminal in Algeciras, Total Terminal International Algeciras (TTIA), acquired in the summer of 2020.

CSP Iberian Valencia Terminal S.A.U is an affiliated company of COSCO SHIPPING Ports (Spain) Terminals S.L.U. (CSP Spain). Its 2.3-km berthing line and 145-hectare yard, as well as a port railway terminal with direct connections to Madrid, Zaragoza and Bilbao and an automatic gate system for local cargo flows explain why CSPV is the benchmarking terminal in the Mediterranean.

CSP Iberian Bilbao Terminal S.L is also an affiliated company of COSCO SHIPPING Ports (Spain) Terminals S.L.U. (CSP Spain) located by the Atlantic Ocean, in the port of Bilbao.

For importers and exporters working with the relevant shipping companies. It connects the Iberian Peninsula and South-East France with the main ports in Northern Europe.

Its two berthing lines, 43.8-hectare yard, as well as a modern port railway terminal connecting Bilbao with the rest of the Iberian Peninsula and an automatic gate system for local cargo flows make CSPB a perfect partner on the supply chain.
