
Court of Auditors reviews financial accounts of Autorità di Sistema Portuale dello Stretto (AdSP – Strait)

Messina, Italy (PortSEurope) November 10, 2020 – The Corporate Control Section of the Court of Auditors (La Corte dei conti) has reviewed the financial accounts of Autorità di Sistema Portuale dello Stretto (AdSP – Strait). It was noted that: “In 2019 the Port System Authority recorded an increase in all the main management balances, with the exception of the economic result which recorded a decrease
settling at €11,100,282 due to the 37.9% increase in operating costs”. The Port Authority of Messina by effect of the law 17 December 2018, n. 136 was transformed into the Port System Authority of the Strait, with a territorial district extended to the Calabrian ports of Reggio Calabria and Villa San Giovanni and with the simultaneous separation of the ports of the southern Tyrrhenian and Ionian Seas and the Strait. The new structure began with the inauguration of the President, which took place on 30 October 2019. The management pertaining to 2019, in fact, closed with a financial surplus of €12,765,248, compared to the financial surplus of €6.6 million in 2018. The administration result also increased, amounting to €13,554,264 (which rises to a total of €126,042,182), and the cash balance that reached €151,583,368 (i.e. €9,008,168 more than in 2018). Shareholders’ equity increased thanks to the positive economic result for the year, going from €122,632,781 to €133,733,063.
