
Georgia Consul General visits Hopaport, Turkey

Trabzon, Turkey (PortSEurope) October 14, 2020 – Gela Japaridze, Consul General of Georgia has visited the Northeast port Trabzon including a trip to the nearby Hopaport. Georgia’s Trabzon Consul General Gela Japaridze and Deputy Consul General Giorgi Qushıtashvılı visited Hopaport and was welcomed by General Manager Meriç Burçin Özer, who presented the port’s works, targets and projects. Meriç Burçin Özer mentioned the strategic importance of
the port in the Black Sea and stated that they have diversified their product range with their investments and continued to diversify it further with new projects. He added that the port is much closer to reaching their target of handling 1 million tons of cargo this year, and that they are continuing various negotiations to sign operations with greater potential in their ports by increasing international relations from next year.
