Civitavecchia, Italy (PortSEurope) November 8, 2018 – Italian shipping company Grimaldi Lines plans to launch a new line linking the ports of Civitavecchia, Olbia and Cagliari, to be operated three times a week.
The service will be launched later this week and will include departures from Civitavecchia will be on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from the port of Olbia to Cagliari on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The launch of the new service demonstrates that the Sardinian ports are at the centre of the commercial strategies of the most important Italian shipping groups, the president of Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mare Di Sardegna (AdSP – Sardinian Sea Port Authority), Massimo Deiana, said.
The new service, which will offer a stable connection between Olbia and Cagliari will reduce the movement of heavy vehicles on Sardinian roads, he added.
