Huelva, Spain (PortSEurope) November 28, 2018 – A commercial mission from the port of Huelva, headed by the director of Autoridad Portuaria de Huelva (APH – Port Authority of Huelva), Ignacio Álvarez-Ossorio, and with the support of Extenda, the Andalusian Agency for Foreign Promotion, together with a business representation of HuelvaPort, has traveled to Houston (Texas), to attend the Spain Oil & Gas Forum between November 26 and 28, with the aim of promoting Huelva as one of the main oil & gas hubs in south-western Europe.
The trade mission was accompanied by several companies of HuelvaPort, Cepsa, CLH, Decal and Enagás, to üromote the port, as the third port of the country of liquid bulk, as well as the new projects of its companies.
Other Spanish companies related to this sector, such as the Sener Engineering and the Pérez y Cía, through their American partner Bielh, also participated in the event.
The director of the Port Authority of Huelva has highlighted the growth potential of the port of Huelva as a logistics hub for liquid bulk of reference in south-western Europe, with the possibility of establishing new business routes with oil and gas companies in the United States, as well as with North Africa, among other markets.
During the stay in Houston, the representatives of the Port of Huelva and the companies of HuelvaPort visited leading oil & gas companies and have held meetings with the port of Houston, as well as the Greater Houston Partnership, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce Spain-Texas, representatives of BBVA and the firm Haynes and Boone, as well as a meeting with the Consul General of Spain in Houston, Enric Panés.
