Livorno port takes steps to realise Darsena Europa container terminal

Livorno, Italy (PortSEurope) October 14, 2019 – After over two years, Livorno port is again seeking to raise interest in the Darsena Europa container terminal project. Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Tirreno Settentrionale (AdSP – North Tyrrhenian Sea Port Authority) has taken a step towards the design of maritime defense works and dredging projects for the first phase of implementation of the Darsena Europa.
By mid-November, a consortium of F&M Ingegneria SpA, HaskoningDHV Nederland, HS Marine srl, and G&T srl will deliver a preliminary project, which will be presented to the press and the public in the following days. The geognostic, geophysical and environmental investigations of the area are also close to completion, and all the investigations necessary for the planning of Phase 1 of the Darsena Europa are completed. As regards the container terminal foreseen in phase 1 of the Darsena Europa, the time window will be closed on November 30 for interested parties to submit proposals.
