New Greek-Cypriot ferry service to be tendered

Limassol, Cyprus (PortSEurope) November 24, 2020 – Cyprus is planning to issue a tender for a sea passenger connection line with Greece in early December, with the ferry connection expected to begin in the summer of 2021. The last similar service ended in 2000 due to the drop in the price of airline tickets. The service will link the Greek port of Piraeus with either
Limassol or Larnaca in Cyprus in the summer of 2021. The Cypriot government has budgeted 4.2 million for the service to cover to subsidise the start of the service. The service will operate once a week in the summer months (May-September) and once in a fortnight during winter (October-April). The maximum cost of a ticket will be €50 one-way, €80 for a return ticket. Copyright (C) PortSEurope. All Rights Reserved. 2020.
