Newly renovated Croatian port of Trget opened

On Friday, the reconstructed and newly renovated port of Trget in the Bay of Raška, Istria, was opened to all users – November 26, 2021 The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Prefect of Istria, Tulio Demetlika, Director of the Maritime Administration of the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, Nina Perko, Director of the Port of Rabac, Antonela Mohorović Kožuh and Mayor of Raša, Gloria

It is a port that had to be completely removed after the crash of the Liberian ship “Fidelity” in June 2018, due to the removal of the then caused sea pollution. Due to the need to build utility berths, as well as due to the relocation of vessels, a completely new port with a total of 295 utility berths has been arranged. The investment worth HRK 10.5 million was jointly financed by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure with HRK 8.4 million and the County of Istria with HRK 2.1 million. “The port of Trget is now the best-kept port in the area of ​​the Port of Rabac and serves us all with pride. However, this is not the end because next year we expect the construction of anchorages, and documentation is being prepared for the port in Sveta Marina,” she said. Director of LU Rabac Antonela Mohorović Kožuh. The Deputy Prefect of Istria, Tulio Demetlika, also greeted the participants, thanking the contractors and all those who participated in the implementation of this project, which is extremely important for the Municipality of Raša and the County of Istria. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Minister Butković for helping to build a port where the population of Raša Municipality received a completely new 295 berths for sport fishing,” said Deputy Demetlika, announcing new projects such as the breakwater in Rabac and the marina in Marčana Municipality. Director of the Maritime Administration Nina Perko pointed out that the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure is continuously implementing projects for construction, rehabilitation and reconstruction of substructures in ports open to public traffic of county and local importance, so that only port authorities in Istria have been allocated HRK 46.3 million. Let us add to this that as part of the project for the arrangement and reconstruction of the port of Trget, four piers with associated equipment have been installed along the main pontoon breakwater, while the total area of ​​the waters in the project area is 21,189.17 m2.
