Piraeus, Greece (PortSEurope) October 12, 2017 – Members of Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce delegation, headed by the Chairman Lu Jianzhong, have visited Piraeus port.
The visit was organized on the initiative of the President of the International Chamber of Commerce – Hellas (ICC Hellas) and Vice Chairman of the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce, Nikolaos Vernikos. It is noted that 76 representatives from many countries participate in the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce.
The delegation were informed about the major developments in progress at the port, the investment plan of the company and was highlighted the key role of Piraeus due to its strategic position in the maritime Silk Road.
The port is operated by Piraeus Port Authority S.A., which was privatised last year, and is managed by China’s Cosco Shipping group, which also operates Piraeus Container Terminal S.A.
