Pescara, Italy (PortSEurope) February 13, 2019 – Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mare Adriatico Centrale (Central Adriatic Sea Port Authority) has completed the preparation of a €552,000 ($625,142) tender for the overhaul of the docks of Pescara port.
The project is part of a wider scheme for the reconstruction of the four ports of Abruzzo region with total financing of €1.3 million ($1.5 million), which is co-funded by the European Union (EU).
The overhaul of the docks will improve the competitiveness of a sector that employs 240 people in Pescara and generates annual revenues of €3.3 million ($3.7 million), the mayor of Pescara, Marco Alessandrini said.
The port of Pescara is the seaport of the main coastal town of Abruzzo. It has two quays “riva di riva” and “levante di levante”. The port is equipped for passenger traffic and for the reclamation of certain types of goods.
