
Tanger Med continues port activities – Covid-19

News COVID 19 – Tanger Med continues its port activities – May 8, 2020 All of the Tanger Med port’s services are operational, including harbormaster’s, pilotage, towing or mooring, in order to ensure maritime calls in the best conditions. Port activities pursue their usual course, including import/export and transshipment container traffic, import/export truck flow, and liquid/solid bulk traffic, all in compliance with the current guidelines.
The port community is mobilised to serve the import-export flows to meet Morocco’s needs such as agri-business, chemical and pharmaceutical products and transhipment for world flows. Tanger Med port and its partners have set up a continuity plan to ensure port needs and operations 24/7. Access controls to Tanger Med port and terminals are also carried out with increased vigilance, in compliance with the rules on individual protection and distancing measures. Furthermore, the entire port community, including partners and local authorities, are informed of all the necessary sanitary measures recommended by the Ministry of Health to maintain the safe and proper functioning of the port. Tanger Med would like to pay tribute to all the people who work daily on the ground despite the exceptional circumstances, including pilots, port operators, logisticians, truck drivers, transit clerks and shipping agents, as well as local authorities related to import/export activity, to ensure the continuity of port operations, maintain a safe and healthy working environment, and guarantee national and international supply chains.
