
Tanger Med Zones is developing a new commercial zone located between Tetouan and M’diq at Cabo Negro

Tanger Med, Morocco (PortSEurope) November 23, 2021 – Tanger Med Zones, a subsidiary of the Tanger Med Group, has started developing a new commercial zone located between Tetouan and M’diq at Cabo Negro, south of the main Tanger Med port complex. The plan is for a zone covering 70 hectares, with the first 30 hectares due to delivery in 2022. IKEA, the Swedish furniture manufacturer
and retailer, will be one of the first companies to operate in the zone. Last June, INGKA Holding, IKEA’s parent company, announced its plans to launch its second store in Morocco in Tetouan. The Swedish company will invest MAD 400 million (€38.49 million). A call for expression of Interest will be issued on November 29, 2021, to identify and select an investor/operator with the required skills and know-how for the development, promotion and management of outlet projects. Tanger Med Zones plans and develops nearly 2,000 hectares, which includes six activity zones dedicated to industry, logistics and services. It includes more than 1,100 companies.
