Alicante, Spain (PortSEurope) November 8, 2018 – The Board of Directors of Autoridad Portuaria de Alicante (APA – Port Authority of Alicante), has been informed of the accumulated result during the first three quarters of the year, which stood at €1,363,353, against a profit of €1,218,758 in the same period of 2017, up 11.9%.
This result was obtained despite a 3.7% reduction in revenues, as a consequence of a decrease in clinker traffic, and a reduction in the rate of merchandise foreseen in the state’s general budgets for 2018, thanks to a reduction in expenses and a lower need for provisions for write-downs.
Although it has no practical impact on the results, it has been highlighted the increase in the number of cruise passengers received in these first nine months, which stood at 22,500, 47%, reaching 70,234, compared to 47,822 in the same period in 2017.
