Almería, Spain (PortSEurope) February 13, 2018 – The president of Almería port authority, Mari Carmen Ortiz, has met with the Governing Board of the College of Architects of Almería. Among the issues that have been addressed is the port’s urban integration project.
The project, named Master Plan Puerto-Ciudad, will address the entire coastal front and will propose integration solutions in all areas. Last January, the Bahía Almeriport Foundation called a tender for Technical Assistance for the elaboration of the Master Plan Puerto-Ciudad, with an execution period of eight months.
The College of Architects has transferred to the president the importance of citizen participation and in the future design. Mari Carmen Ortiz has insisted that the Puerto-Ciudad project should involve the entire city. Above all, “we hope it can be a boost for the historic centre of the city, Ortiz said.
The president of the port has highlighted the “important contribution” that the port makes to the social and economic development of the province and the city.
