Andalusia government to coordinate policies of Ceuta, Melilla ports

Ceuta, Spain (PortSEurope) March 15, 2019 – The Seville-based Andalusia regional government plans to launch a permanent working group with the seven ports in the region and with Ceuta and Melilla to coordinate their actions, public administration councillor Elías Bendodo said.

Bendodo has ensured that the group will meet twice a month with the aim of securing the best policies to develop their potential.

He also announced the creation of a strategic plan for the Andalusian ports with the same objectives and has highlighted the strategic importance of their locations, in the passage between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.

The regional port system and the network of logistics areas are currently managed by Agencia Pública de Puertos de Andalucía (APPA – Public Ports Agency of Andalusia).
