Assoporti and customs agency sign agreement to develop ports

Rome, Italy (PortSEurope) July 23, 2020 – Assoporti (Association of Italian Ports) and Agenzia Dogane e Monopoli (ADM – Customs and Monopolies Agency) have signed an agreement to establish technical round tables (TAAP – coordinamento e la costituzione di tavoli tecnici) to improve relations and cooperation between port operators and companies in the sector. This aims to improve port competitiveness, nationwide logistics and increase port
traffic. The round tables will look at that can be improved including tax benefits and operational simplification, customs formalities connected to the entry / exit of goods, boarding / disembarking, fulfilments and conditions related to payment and collection port and anchorage taxes, through the standardization of the relative methods operational. The agreement was signed by ADM Director General, Marcello Minenna, and President of Assoporti, Daniele Rossi. Rossi was previously president of Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mare Adriatico Centro-Settentrionale (AdSP – Centre-North Adriatic Port Authority). Copyright (C) PortSEurope.
