Ibiza, Spain (PortSEurope) June 27, 2019 – Balearic Islands port authority has launched improvement works on the dike of Botafoc, in the port of Ibiza.
The port authority has indicated that the parking spaces in the area will be outside the scope of the works and the pedestrian way that runs behind the lighthouse will be cut in order to guarantee safety for people.
The works, awarded to Spanish company Copcisa for €854,983 ($972,628), aim to repair the structural problems found in 2015 and in the outer part of the dike.
In addition, other repairs will be undertaken such as the disassembly of the handrail, chopping and deep cleaning of the walls, the installation of additional armature, as well as concreting the vertical and horizontal walls, among others.
