Genoa, Italy (PortSEurope) June 18, 2018 – The partnership between the Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Ligure Occidentale (AdSP – Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority) and Banca Carige SpA has been renewed for a further five years.
The Genoese bank will manage the port’s cash service and also financial consultancy. The renewal was assigned after the award of the tender issued by the AdSP at the end of the previous term.
The agreement was signed by the president of the AdSP Paolo Emilio Signorini and the chief commercial officer of Banca Carige, Gianluca Guaitani.
The service will be carried out mainly through the banking agency Carige n.32 of Piazza Banchi, which has always been a point of reference for the maritime and port community.
The agreement signed today also expressly includes an advisory service by Banca Carige aimed at “facilitating the implementation of financial programmes aimed at developing the port”.
Guaitani said that Banca Carige historically represents the main financial reference point for the ports of Genoa and Savona, of which over the decades, since the birth of the original port system, has constantly followed its needs and developments. The partnership signed today with the AdSP, born from the latest Law of Port Reform, reaffirms the bank’s proximity to the institutions of the Ligurian ports, with a view to offering a service not only of treasury but also of advice and assistance in financial matters and credit to the port and its employees.
Signorini commented, “As for the infrastructural investments made by the AdSP, we have outstanding mortgages that we renew, my hope is that Carige increases the business also with dealers and in general with entities regulated by the ADSP, with the entire supply chain of the port”.
Genoa-based Banca Carige (Cassa di Risparmio di Genova e Imperia) is one of the largest Italian banks.
