Beato’s Multipurpose Terminal (TMB) Reinforces Operational Capacity

Beato’s Multipurpose Terminal (TMB) reinforces operational capacity

Lisbon, Portugal (PortSEurope) July 3, 2020 – TMB (Terminal Multiusos do Beato) has purchased on a rental basis a Liebherr LHM 280, with a capacity of 84 tonnes per movement to increase its operational capacity. The new crane will equip the terminal with more efficient equipment for handling solid bulk and general cargo. TMB will also acquire two new loaders. TMB expects that the new
equipment will allow an improvement in the productivity of port operations and, consequently, an increase in the capacity for handling goods at that port facility. TMB is located in the Port of Lisbon, on the North bank of the Tagus River, with direct connections to the main road national and international networks. The terminal has two internal rail tracks, directly linked with the main national network through an uneven cross that allows the trains circulation without any restrictions. TMB handles all types of general cargo, and is equipped to handle breakbulk cargo and some types of solid bulk. Roles of paper, aluminium, fruit and sugar are the merchandise which is mostly handled here. Mainly short-sea vessels use the port. Copyright (C) PortSEurope. All Rights Reserved. 2020.
