Bilbao, Spain (PortSEurope) June 25, 2019 – The container terminal of Bilbao port has become the first terminal in Spain to comply with the new Customs Code (CAU) of the European Union.

The compliance with the code has been “the result of joint work done, during the last six months, of Customs, Bilbao port authority, and CSP Iberian Bilbao Terminal”.

The months of previous coordinated work served to “certify, through exhaustive tests, that the communication is agile and reliable in order to block containers that do not comply with the regulations”.

In addition, the CAU has been integrated “without interfering with the operation of the terminal” and it has been demonstrated that “100% compliance with all requirements is met, which provides security in commercial transactions and avoids fraud”.

CSP Iberian Bilbao Terminal is part of Cosco Shipping Ports (Spain) Terminals S.L.U. (CSP Spain).
