Ceuta, Spain (PortSEurope) January 4, 2018 – The Gibraltar Strait maritime line established between the ports of Ceuta and Algeciras is close to reaching 1,800,000 passengers in the first eleven months of 2017, figures that are slightly below those of the like period of 2016.
In November alone, a total of 122,122 passengers and 25,489 vehicles were transported on the line. This situation represents a slight increase in passengers and vehicles compared to the eleventh month of 2016 when there was traffic of 119,876 passengers and 19,460 vehicles.
Between the months of January and November, the port of Ceuta handled 1,763,875 passengers and 357,036 vehicles, down 1.81% on the year, and 329,353 vehicles, up 8.41%.
The port authority has indicated that there has also been a slight decrease in general cargo traffic to 807,158 tonnes in the first eleven months, down 14.89% year-on-year.
