Genoa, Italy (PortSEurope) May 24, 2018 – The Ente Bacini SRL shipyard (five basins) is to be privatised but has attracted just one bid. A joint bid by Fincantieri SpA, San Giorgio del Porto, and Amico & Co has been submitted for a 25-year concession.
There is only one bidder competing to win the concession for 25 years of Ente Bacini, the company that manages the five dry docks of the port of Genoa, but it is worth three.
The tender was issue by Genoa-based Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Ligure Occidentale (AdSP – Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority) with a value of €187 million ($218.75 million), with a further €33 million ($38.6 million) in investments planned.
Fincantieri, San Giorgio and Amico & Co. will have to set up an ad hoc company to which the twenty-five year concession should be awarded and which Ente Bacini’s workers should merge.
Ente Bacini manages the systems consisting of five masonry dry docks, including docks, forecourts and moorings.
