Within the framework of his official visit to the Republic of Turkey, the Prime Minister of Georgia met with Vice-President Fuat Oktay and Chairman of the Grand National Assembly Mustafa Shantof.
During the meeting with Vice President Oktai, the two sides focused on the two countries’ friendly relations and strategic partnership. The importance of holding a meeting of the Georgia-Turkey Joint Economic Commission was emphasized in the process of deepening bilateral trade-economic cooperation.
It was noted that high-level visits would bring new dynamics to the development of relations between the two countries. Giorgi Gakharia was hosted by the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly Mustafa Shantof in the Legislature of the Republic of Turkey. At the enlarged meeting, discussions focused on important issues on the bilateral agenda, including fruitful cooperation with the Georgian legislature.
The important role of Georgia and Turkey in ensuring stability in the region was underlined. At the high-level meetings, the Turkish side reaffirmed its strong support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
