Sagunto, Spain (PortSEurope) June 15, 2018 – Sagunto port has taken a new step forward in its strategy of diversification with the start of the “Short Sea Service A” service of Italian company Grimaldi, linking the Spanish harbour to Cagliari and Salerno. The start of the service, which to date operated from the port of Valencia, will not only increase the cargo traffic of Sagunto
port, but also means that the harbour starts operating platform traffic, demonstrating the growing expertise of the stowage workers in recent years. The ship that started the service in Sagunto was the “Eurocargo Roma”, which operated between Tuesday and Wednesday in the Terminal Europa located at the dock Centro 2. Grimaldi Logística España consigned the ship, while Noatum Terminal Sagunto was in charge of the loading and unloading work. The service “Short Sea Service A” of Grimaldi Lines stops in Sagunto every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and links with the ports of Cagliari, on the Italian island of Sardinia and in Salerno, a city located southwest of Naples.
