Hamburg Süd launches regular line connecting Mediterranean, Northern Europe, South America

Barcelona, Spain (PortSEurope) October 5, 2017 – German shipping company Hamburg Süd Group (Hamburg Süd-Gruppe) has presented a weekly service that links the Mediterranean and Northern Europe with some of the main ports in South America. The line, which was launched last October 1, is operated by a total of 16 ships that have an average cargo capacity of 10,500 TEUs. The objective is to
provide faster transit times from the European continent, as well as greater coverage of destinations on the East Coast of South America. The MESA service has three calls in Spain, in the ports of Barcelona, Valencia and Algeciras. The service rotation is as follows: Marsaxlokk, Genoa, Algeciras, Salvador, Sepetiba, Santos, Itapoa, Rio Grande, Itajai, Itapoa, Santos, Sepetiba, Tangier, Algeciras, Tangier and Marsaxlokk. With its brands Hamburg Süd, Aliança, and Compañía Chilena de Navegación Interoceánica (CCNI), the Hamburg Süd Group is active in the field of international container liner services.
