Italy’s Senate Approves Establishment Of 16th Port Authority

Catania, Italy (PortSEurope) November 28, 2018 – Italy’s Senate has approved the establishment of the country’s 16th port authority, senator Barbara Floridia said – Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale dello Stretto di Messina (AdSP – Strait of Messina Port Authority).

The new port authority will be in charge of the management of the ports of Messina, Milazzo, Villa San Giovanni and Reggio Calabria, she noted.

The establishment of the new port authority will see the coasts of Calabria and Sicily united under a single management structure, Floridia said.

The move will enhance the business opportunities for ports in Calabria, senator Federica Dieni said.
