Las Palmas, Canary Islands, Spain (PortSEurope) August 30, 2019 – La Luz Autoport Terminal has requested a plot in Las Palmas port for vehicle storage in the Dársena de África (dock).
An investment of €18 million is required for the construction and commissioning of the logistics terminal for import and export of vehicles.
José Juan Ramos, executive president and CEO of the company, said that the province of Las Palmas imports more than 30,000 vehicles per year, while exporting more than 4,000, and at the moment its storage is carried out in scattered and unsuitable fields and spaces in Gran Canaria. The new solution will produce cost savings and reduce movement of vehicles.
The construction of this terminal will be carried out by Amro, a company specialized in this type of construction, with a system of approved steel anchors.
Up to 40 people will work in the terminal , with a fixed workforce of 17 operators.
