Livorno port launches tender for railway service

Livorno, Italy (PortSEurope) June 11, 2019 – Livorno port has launched a €12 million tender for the concession of the railway service of the Livorno-Calabrone port area, with any bids to submitted by midday July 12.

The concessionaire will manage the service for five years, arranging to organise on behalf of the railway companies the maneuver of the trains arriving and departing from the Livorno-Calambrone and Livorno-Darsena areas.

In 2018, Livorno port handled a total of 1,963 trains, a 14% increase in volumes shipped and received by rail.
