
Luka Koper see 2020 net profit down 21%

Koper, Slovenia (PortSEurope) February 23, 2021 – Luka Koper, the operator of Koper port, has reported net profit of €32 million ($38.9 million), 1% ahead of forecast but down 21% on the previous 12 months. Revenues were €203.6 million, an 8 % decrease. EBIT totaled €33.5 million, 1% over forecast and EBITDA was 2 % down at €61.8 million. Operating costs were down 10%. Despite
the Covid-19 coronavirus crisis, €68.1 million were allocated for investments in 2020, a 74% increase. Investments included a new Ro-Ro berth and railway sidings for the car terminal were built in the north-east part of the port, construction of the garage and works on the third truck gate Bertoki, the latter two underway. The key investment which started last year is the container terminal extension. According to Alphaliner, in 2020, Koper port saw container (TEU) numbers decline by -1.5% to 945,051 units.
