Marín, Spain (PortSEurope) December 22, 2017 – Marín port authority (Autoridad Portuaria de Marín) plans to tender the drafting of a Strategic Plan to establish the development model and the strategic position of the port, based on an analysis and diagnosis of the current situation, a possibility included in a Royal Legislative Decree of 2011 that approves the rewritten text of the Law of Ports of the State and the Merchant Navy.
The plan aims to respond to the evolution of sustained growth that has been experienced Marín port, whose total traffic in 2016 amounted to 2.3 million tonnes and whose socio-economic impact in the region can be quantified in more than 13,000 direct and indirect jobs, as stated at the meeting of the board of directors of the port.
The board was informed of the specifications for contracting the work of this Strategic Plan, as well as the technical specifications that accompany them. The Strategic Plan for Marín port will be defined, as indicated by port sources, with the time horizon of 2019-2023.
