Minister attends signing of contract worth HRK 554 million for development of Rijeka port

Today in Rijeka, the Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, Oleg Butković, attended the signing of the ‘Contract for the execution of works on the state road DC403 from the Škurinje junction to the port of Rijeka’ and the contract for the execution of seabed deepening works at the Jadranska vrata terminal – June 18, 2020 The contracts, with a total value of HRK 554
million, are extremely important for the development of Rijeka’s transport route, and are co-financed by grants from the European Union. The contract for the execution of works on the state road DC403 was signed by Josip Škorić, President of the Management Board of Hrvatske ceste and Kristjan Mugerli, a representative of the selected Community of Bidders, consisting of the companies Kolektor CPG, GP Krk and Euro-asfalt. The value of this contract is HRK 456.36 million. Road DC403, 2977 meters long (with 380 meters of access road), connects the Škurinje junction on the Rijeka bypass with the new container terminal on the Zagreb coast. Works on the construction of the road will begin within a month from the date of signing the contract, with a completion period of 2.5 years, and the section will include the Podmurvice tunnel, a total length of 1.2 km, as well as the Piopi viaducts (316 m) and Mlaka (144 m). “The state road DC403, although only 3.5 kilometers long, is worth as much as €70 million. It is being built in the function of the Zagreb coast and will connect to Zvonimirova Street, which will solve the problem of the western entrance to the city of Rijeka. Along with the Pelješac Bridge, it is one of the largest projects implemented by Croatian Roads and one of the largest infrastructure investments in Croatia”, said Minister Butković, emphasizing that this Project is part of an investment cycle of more than 20 billion kuna, initiated by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure. After signing the Contract for the execution of works on DC403, the Director of the Port of Rijeka Authority, Denis Vukorepa and a member of the Management Board of NUOVA CO.ED.MAR Srl, Orianna Boscolo Contadin signed a contract worth HRK 97.7 million for the execution of works within the project ‘ Improvement of infrastructure in the port of Rijeka – deepening of the southern connection AGCT (POR2CORE-AGCT Dredging)’, which is also co-financed by EU funds. The contract includes works on deepening the seabed, in the length of 100 meters along the coastal wall of the southern berth, which will equalize the depth of the sea in the entire length of the operational coast Kostrena port south, of 428 meters on Brajdica. It should be noted that the total value of active projects, which the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure is currently implementing in the Rijeka area, amounts to 1.3 billion kuna, and they relate mostly to the reconstruction and modernization of the port of Rijeka.
