Genoa, Italy (PortSEurope) November 15, 2019 – The “renewed” Calata delle Vele quay and the Palacrociere terminal 1, has been inaugurated in the port of Savona.

The quay can accommodate the newest and largest ships, including Costa Smeralda. This required deepening the sea bed from 9 metres to 11, which involved reinforcing piers 9 and 10 and the installation of scaffolding supported by pillars on the front of pier 8.

The €17 million project by Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Ligure Occidentale (AdSP – Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority) was completed on time for the arrival of the Costa Diadema. Costa invested €5 million in the renovated terminal..

The €17 million investment by the AdSP was made by Fincosit srl and RCM Costruzioni.
