Genoa, Italy (PortSEurope) June 11, 2018 – Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Ligure Occidentale (AdSP – Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority) has extended the SECH (Terminal Contenitori Porto di Genova Spa) container terminal until 2045.

SECH is a key terminal operator for the port of Genoa with over 335,000 TEU handled in 2017.

President of the AdSP, Paolo Emilio Signorini, said, “I believe that, together with other measures we are adopting for our port system, this goal is the confirmation that the port is healthy and that new and valid operators, remember that SECH had an important transition from the family that created it to an ownership structure with new funds, choose our ports in the sign of a dynamism that bodes well for the future”.

SECH has been managing the Calata Sanità terminal since 1993 and is part of GIP (Gruppo Investimenti Portuali).

Also announced was the development of a new container terminal at Genoa port, to be built and operated by Consorzio Bettolo, which is 65% owned by Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) and 35% by GIP (Gruppo Investimenti Portuali), which is in turn run by the Infravia and Infracapital funds.
