Barcelona, Spain (PortSEurope) March 14, 2019 – Spanish autonomous truck drivers association Sintraport is holding meetings with companies active at Barcelona port to adjust the prices of their services to the annual consumer price index (CPI) and the variation of the price of the fuel.
The association plans to hold meetings with the Catalan regional government to discuss the establishment of a certificate of suitability of containers. Sintraport has claimed that the transporter does not have to be in charge of reviewing them or paying the costs of the rejected transport.
However, Sintraport plans to carry out a new protest if the signing of the agreements claimed is not achieved. The mobilization will take place next Monday in the centre of Barcelona. The president of Sintraport, Vicente Rodríguez, has estimated that “between 750 and 800 trucks” would join the rally.
The association has launched a series of strikes of autonomous truck drivers that would be carried out until Friday.
