Spain’s Anesco, Puertos Del Estado Ask For Support For Reform Of Stowage Sector

Madrid, Spain (PortSEurope) April 3, 2019 – Spanish stevedoring companies association Asociación Nacional de Empresas Estibadoras (Anesco) and national ports agency Puertos del Estado have requested support from parliamentary groups for the validation of the Royal Decree-Law on the reform of stowage sector, approved by the Council of Ministers.

The new Royal Decree-Law, which completes the one adopted two years ago, includes changes in the hiring of workers in the sector, such as mandatory subrogation for companies that leave the management companies of dockworkers (Sagep).

The employers of the stowage sector met in Madrid with the president of Puertos del Estado, Salvador de la Encina, to transfer the main concerns of port terminals to improve the competitiveness of ports and analyse the details of the new real decree.
