Gijón, Spain (PortSEurope) June 26, 2019 – Gijón port’s cargo traffic rose by 0.2% on the year in the first half of 2019, reaching 9.3 million tonnes.
All types of cargo traffic grew in the period at the port. However, the cargo traffic at the European Bulk Handling Installation (EBHI) terminal fell by 4.6% on the year to 5.6 million tonnes.
The board of directors of the port authority approved on June 25 the balance sheet for 2018, in which a surplus of €7 million ($7.95 million) was recorded.
